☀️Welcome to the Mukilteo Schools Foundation 2025 Summer Newsletter!

A Note from Our President

As we wrap up another school year, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you for your continued support of our programs. Because of your generosity, we’ve been able to fund scholarships for graduating seniors, support educators through classroom grants, and contribute to initiatives that directly benefit students across our district.

Congratulations to the Class of 2025 — we’re so proud of you and can’t wait to see what you do next!

Wishing you all a safe and fun summer!

Thank you for your support,

Vikki Strand

Mukilteo Schools Foundation, President

Celebrating Our 2025 Senior Scholarship Recipients

We’re proud to announce the awarding of $1,000 scholarships to 23 outstanding high school graduates from the Mukilteo School District! These scholarships will help our 2025 grads with college tuition as they take the next step in their academic and professional journeys.

Seventeen recipients will attend colleges and universities right here in Washington State, while seven are headed to out-of-state schools — reflecting a wide range of aspirations and academic paths. Students were selected based on their academic achievement, community involvement, and dedication to higher education.

“We are incredibly proud of these students and excited to support them as they begin this new chapter,” said Vikki Strand, President of the Mukilteo Schools Foundation. “We are grateful to our corporate sponsors and community members for being a part of this important program.”

Students received their award certificates at the Senior Recognition Nights held at Kamiak High School on June 4 and Mariner High School on June 5.

One of our recipients, William MacCulloch from Kamiak, shared:

“I just wanted to say a huge thanks to everyone who has been there for me not only in my academics but my personal life as well. I have changed so much over these past few years and couldn’t do it without you. Thank you Mukilteo School District for making grades K–12 so meaningful and impactful.”

Over the past 10 years, the Mukilteo Schools Foundation has awarded nearly $157,000 in scholarships to hard-working seniors across the district.

This program is made possible through generous donations from individuals and local business partners. To help us continue supporting future graduates, we invite you to DONATE or learn more at www.mukilteoschoolsfoundation.org

Coming Up: Educator & Classroom Grants

This fall, the Mukilteo Schools Foundation will once again offer Educator and Classroom Grants to help teachers and faculty enhance learning experiences across our district.

Each year, our Educator Grants provide thousands of dollars to classrooms across the Mukilteo School District. Teachers use these funds to purchase books, supplies, and develop innovative programs that bring learning to life for their students.

This past year, one grant recipient used her funding to purchase a core communication board for the playground, helping nonverbal and minimally verbal students express themselves during recess.

“We are very excited to get this done and in place so that all students can use this board for communicating outside. Thank you so much for the grant and help for all of our students.”

Helping Students Beyond the Classroom

This year, the Mukilteo Schools Foundation began partnering with a local initiative called Packs for Kids, which provides weekend food support to students facing food insecurity.

Many children in our district rely on school meals during the week, and weekends can be especially challenging. Packs for Kids helps fill that gap by sending home nutritious, easy-to-prepare food, ensuring no student goes hungry when school is out.

We’re proud to support this program and help ease the stress that food insecurity places on families. Together, we can make sure every child has the nourishment they need to learn, grow, and thrive.

Thank you to everyone who came out in support of Mukilteo Schools Foundation for the Give Back Night at Tapped!
