Marcus Satterlee
President
Marcus is a proud graduate of the Mukilteo School District, where his passion for education and community first took root. As a senior at Mariner High School, he served as the student representative to the Mukilteo School Board, gaining firsthand experience in educational leadership and advocacy. Today, Marcus stays deeply involved, serving on the district’s Bond Advisory Committee and Budget Committee and as the Secretary of the Bond Adoption Citizen’s Team. He is committed to helping shape a strong, vibrant future for students and the community.

Vikki Strand
Co-Vice President
Vikki Strand is the Community Relations Officer at Sound Credit Union for the Northern Puget Sound Region. With over 25 years in financial services, she has experience in community engagement, consumer lending, and business development. Vikki is passionate about enhancing community impact, collaborating with nonprofits, and promoting financial education. She has served on various community boards for over 14 years, including the Mukilteo Schools Foundation and Housing Hope. Vikki and her husband Scott have lived in Mukilteo for over 20 years and have three children.

Elizabeth Angel
Co-Vice President
Elizabeth Angel has lived in Western Washington for ten years, six of those years in Mukilteo. Originally from San Diego, CA, she earned a BS in Architectural Engineering from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, in 2001. With 22 years in the Engineering and Construction industry, including 10 years as a structural engineering consultant in North County San Diego and 12 years at Balfour Beatty, she is currently the Director of Construction Technology at their Seattle office. Elizabeth has been actively involved in STEM programs and community advocacy, mentoring SHPE (Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers) at the University of Washington and as the Seattle chair for SOMOS, the Latin@ Affinity Group at Balfour Beatty. As one of seven siblings and an aunt to 14, she values education, mentorship, and community support. She enjoys traveling to MLB stadiums and spending time with family in her free time.

Pat Hegarty
Secretary
Pat Hegarty joined the Mukilteo School District in July 2015 after 32 years with Shoreline Public Schools. He began his career in 1983 as an English teacher at Shoreline High School, later moving to Shorewood High School, where he held various roles, including librarian, Assistant Principal and Athletic Director. In 2006, Pat became principal of Syre Elementary School, then returned to high school as principal of Shorecrest High School for nine years. He holds a BA and MAT in English from the University of Washington and is pursuing a Superintendent’s certificate from Western Washington University.

Karl Hausmann
Treasurer
Karl Hausmann is a lawyer for Mill Creek Law Firm. Karl attended Mariner High School, the University of Notre Dame, and Seattle University School of Law. Karl’s law practice includes civil and commercial litigation, including construction, probate litigation, and real estate law. Karl is the former president of the Snohomish County Bar Association and an Everett Port Gardner Rotary Club member. He is a former coach with the Mukilteo Youth Soccer Club.

Dr. Alison Brynelson
Ex-Officio Board Member
Dr. Alison Brynelson became the Superintendent of Mukilteo School District on January 1, 2020, after 22 years in various roles within the district, including Assistant Principal and Deputy Superintendent. She began her education career as a middle school teacher in the Bethel School District. Dr. Brynelson holds a bachelor’s degree from Western Washington University, a master’s from the University of Puget Sound, and a doctorate in Executive Leadership from Seattle Pacific University. Raised on a small island in Southeast Alaska, she has been committed to the district's equity initiatives and remains a Washington resident.

Thane Walkup
Board Member
Thane has lived in the Pacific Northwest his entire life and in Mukilteo for the past eleven years. He is a stay-at-home dad for his daughter, who attends Endeavour Elementary. He is starting a "Girls Who Code" program at the same school and was a former Endeavour PTA board member. His prior career was in Information Technology, but he has pursued interests in dance, astrophysics, and history. He strongly believes that a well-rounded education for everyone is essential for a healthy society and democracy.

Mary Wastman
Board Member
Mary has worked for the Mukilteo School District for nearly 29 years, starting as a lunch lady at Voyager Middle School in 1992. She has served in various roles, including office assistant at Fairmount Elementary and Mariner High School, and has been an Administrative Assistant for Communications and Public Relations for over 18 years. Mary holds a photography certificate from the University of Washington and runs a small business. She is passionate about helping others and has volunteered in several capacities, including as secretary for The F.U.N. Committee and campaign manager for the United Way fundraising campaign for 18 years. Mary lives in north Edmonds with her husband, has two daughters who graduated from Kamiak High School, and enjoys time with her grandson.

Kaylynn Kelley
Board Member
Kaylynn Kelley is a Mukilteo resident and parent with strong community ties. She lives in Harbor Pointe, where her three children have attended Mukilteo School District schools. As a Residential Broker and Certified Negotiation Expert with FIRST & MAIN, Kaylynn excels in guiding families through the home buying and selling process. She is known for her personalized service, communication skills, and dedication to client support. She is an active community member who has served on the Seattle Sports Commission and the Austen Everett Foundation boards and currently supports the Mukilteo School Foundation’s mission to enhance educational opportunities. Kaylynn enjoys family time outside work and volunteering, exploring the Pacific Northwest, and cheering on her kids at various activities.

Tatiana Perkins
Board Member
Tatiana Perkins (she/her/hers) was born in Seattle and raised in Everett, and is a graduate of the Mukilteo School District. At Mariner High School, she served on the ASB her senior year. She earned her B.A. in Political Science and Law, Societies, and Justice from the University of Washington and is currently pursuing her Master's of Social Work degree at Howard University. Tatiana serves as Associate Director of Patient Advocacy Programs at Planned Parenthood Federation of America, where she advances initiatives that center equity, autonomy, and access to care. She is deeply committed to ensuring that young people have their basic needs met, can celebrate their diversity, and have equitable pathways to education and career opportunities.

Rachel Carbary
Development Manager
Rachel Carbary has lived in Washington State most of her life and grew up in the Riverview School District. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science from the University of Washington and has over 15 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, most recently as a Donor Relations and Event Coordinator for a grassroots conservation organization. Passionate about education, Rachel helps the next generation discover their passions. She is also a writer and has self-published a children’s book. Rachel lives in Monroe with her husband, dog, and three cats, often found reading, writing, or rewatching her favorite shows.

Kristin Kimmerling
Bookkeeper
Kristin Kimmerling has been in the PNW for 35 years, in Mukilteo for the last 21 with her husband and two children. Kristin’s two children went through the Mukilteo School District from Kindergarten at Serene Lake Elementary to graduating from Kamiak High School. During those years, Kristin volunteered with the Serene Lake PTA, OV PTO, and Kamiak PTO, as well as being the KPAB Wreath Sales Chair, KPAB Patron of the Arts Chair, and the 2016 Kamiak Grad Knight Treasurer. Kristin graduated from UNR with a degree in Anthropology but went to work in the accounting field and worked as a bookkeeper in the Civil Engineering world for 28 years. She “semi-retired” in 2019 and is a partner with her husband in their firm. Outside work, she likes to snow ski and go to the garden.
